The Founders of \swarm it^ are the same as the founders of Kinder Republic - Sri Lanka's first (and still only) Rights-Centric Democratic School.
WIth Kinder Republic, it was always our ambition to make available Democratic Education to every child in Sri Lanka who desired it. While we are open to supporting mainstream schools become more democratic, we wanted to offer something to tell the time while the clock was being built. We also had a request from the Kinder citizens to interact with children outside of the Kinder Republic community, and even outside of Sri Lanka.
So the idea of a virtual community (within which Kinder Republic performs an important role as a physical "hive" within \swarm it^) was born and eventually developed into \swarm it^
